
Introduction
During the 20th century modernism had become a concept of many great innovators and thinkers. It is especially seen through architecture and design. One of the frontiers of this new way of being was Le Corbusier. He displayed his interest and belief in modernism through his design of architecture and furniture as well as art. Le Corbusier had a huge influence on architecture all around the world which thrived once he moved to Paris in 1917 [2]. He forever changed the foundation of the city’s architecture, design, transportation, buildings, and overall social function through his philosophy. With the rise of technology and working class created social issues, such as smog, dense cities, and non efficient transportation influence Le Corbusier and the modernist movement. Modernism greatly reflected the industrial and technological changes within society by being minimal, simple, and functional.

A common modern thought of design was every part of a building and design had a function. Le Corbusier had a vision of city design in which focus around cars, workers, and transportation of the city. He also considered a utopia type city in which everyone had the space they needed and had green space to still be intertwined with nature [3].
Overall Le Corbusier made a big impact in Paris’ movement towards modernism and being an attractive and thriving city by implementing the modernist ideology and presenting new architecture and design. This set the foundation for Paris to be the world renown hotspot we know today.
